San Diego Day 3 - Zoo-tacular

We absolutely loved the zoo! We were there all day right up until they were closing and then some. I took a bajillion and a half pictures for the heads up ... and there's some great little videos at the bottom - so don't miss them. This post literally took me all day with how many pictures there were to upload ... if there's an easier faster way to upload pictures please tell me. Well...we loved the animals and had the times of our lives.

The pictures tell most of the story (they tell a thousand words right)... so I'll let them do the talkin:

It took the tortoise on top probably 15 minutes to get there ... there's a video at the bottom of the post ... definitely one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed

Happy Hippo

We're definitely having pet tigers when we're in heaven ... they're so adorable

Pandas are definitely my favorite of all ... they were being shy and sleeping and eating though

Doesn't he look so happy?

Family Portrait

He just kept getting closer ... he was very interested in Matt for some reason - he's lucky he didn't spit on him ha

Up close and personal

Definitely one of my favorite pictures ... despite Matt's pointing finger in the way

She was a good poser for photos

Play Fighting

I love Koalas ... apparently the time to see them awake is at night - they were soo cute but it's hard to take pictures of them when it's dark

Ever wondered why the Lion was the king of the jungle? Hear him roaring and it answers all your questions ...

Eating Giraffe ... sorry I don't know how to put rotate movies so you'll have to turn your head/screen ... and keep it that way for the next one

Drinking Elephant

I suggest watching the tortoise movie without your kids unless you want to answer some awkward questions after the fact. It's definitely a funny one though ... once in a lifetime do you see something like this.

And So It Begins ...

Fall camp has begun!

Saturday was the big day ... He was gone by 5:30 a.m. Off to run up Y Mountain. Crazy stuff they make them do. I saw him for a couple hours on his breaks but other than that he wasn't home til 9 p.m. And that's basically how it will be for the rest of this month. We'll get to see each other for maybe a couple hours at night and maybe a few more on Saturdays. What makes it hard is that we have spent a LOT of time together this summer ... we're not used to being a part from each other. But it is still good.

He's been pretty sore ... mostly from the new freshman who don't know that 'to touch' means don't actually tackle ... just touch them ... so he got rammed a couple times in the ribs without pads on and so has some pretty bruised ribs if you can't imagine.

Other than that ... from what I know it is going good and great and he's working hard and earning his spot out there on the field.

I think I've already watched 6 or 7 movies in the last 3 days. 5 on Saturday. I'm thinking we're going to need to renew our Netflix. But I have been getting quite a bit done around the house which is good. I've got no other choice but to clean or fold laundry. The joke at work is that I'm a widow for this upcoming month.

Good luck to Matt this next month! He's the one doing all the strenuous physical practices and all that other stuff football players do. It'll be a hard but good month that I'm sure will pay off for the both of us.

Silly Me

When we got the new car we went to a car wash and then vacuumed the inside.

Well ... after driving off and we're almost home Matt noticed that the passenger floor mat was gone. Of course ... I forgot to put it back in after vacuuming underneath it. Ugh.

Silly Me .... our nice new car.

And Matt was so sweet about it too ... laughed and said we need to get new floor mats anyways cause they're falling part and not good ones - he sure knows how to make me feel better about my idiocy

Oh ... and when I went back the next day ... they couldn't find it!! The guy looked forever. Boo.
